So I finally did It. I've been thinking about doing it for so many years now. I've been scraping my money together. I've been searchin the internet for an easy, and cheap deal. And yesterday I finally went fo it.
I put down a deposit for a trip to Japan in October! (What didja think?!) I've been wanting to go there for soo long. There is just something interesting to me about that country. They seem to have such an exciting mix of old/new traditions, culture, and rules. The people have a reputation for being solemn and shy one moment, then partying at weird karaoke bars and cyber dance clubs the next moment. I wanna do that! I've been to Europe and there are lots of incredible things to see, but Japan just seems like another planet to me. I'm really agog (to misuse a word that i do not really know the meaning of) and amped to finally get the trip rolling.
I was debating on whether to join a tour group or just be adventurous and travel on my own. So, I ended up compromising. I will be joining a cool sounding tour group. The tour people are from UK, another country I love, so I hoping they will be an interesting group. We are supposed to travel from modern Tokyo, down to Mt Fuji, then on to old school Kyoto and Nara (home of the giant gold Buddha!), and finally back to Tokyo. There I will have 3-4 days to wander around alone looking for do-it-yourself restaurants and hotels with bed compartment bunk.

In other news, my stomach was killing me last night. I drank half a bottle of "the pink stuff" to calm it down. I hate that stuff but it does seem to help, AND it turns your poop a weird green colour! Hope that isn't a sign of how my long weekend will be going.
